A flexible (rubber or silicone) protective cover/boot designed specifically for standard RJ45 Ethernet connectors. Its primary function is to provide strain relief by protecting the connection point between the cable and the plug from excessive bending, physical strain, and dust accumulation.
Additionally, it covers the connector's release latch (clip), protecting it from accidentally snagging and breaking off during cable routing or removal. These boots are often used for color-coding, which significantly simplifies cable identification in complex network setups. They are compatible with most CAT5e and CAT6 network cables. Please note that the boot must be slid onto the cable before crimping the connector.
